Who are the Dragonfae?  If you have had experience with fairies and other nature spirits you will be surprised to find that the Dragonfae have a different energy.  Lucy describes them as : “…our strongest, most protective kin…”, those we were torn away from as “false beliefs and fears” took over.  And there is a very strong energy with these cards.  They are Oracle cards.  They do not follow any Tarot pattern of reading.  They simply channel the Dragonfae guides who impart information and support.

The cards themselves depict strong beautiful feminine characters alongside male type dragon energies, but my interpretation does not do them the justice they deserve.  You have to see and sense these cards for yourself.   Coming from a Tarot background I’ve appreciated the aesthetic art of many oracle cards but have never been very excited about them, apart from tossing the odd Angel card here and there for light uplifts.  These cards are very different.  They do have clear connections for medium activities.  But what I think is really special about these cards, or more appropriately about the Dragonfae themselves, is the hope they offer us for a better way of living, and a loving cradle to carry us through forward, and paradoxically back, to magickal times where humanity does away with the negative fears of patriarchal religion and other devisory weapons.

The pentagram on the back of each card I particularly like.  This symbol for Venus, for Humanity, has always been a significant one for me and for many others in ways that are much different to what may initially come to mind.

In keeping with the nature of these cards I asked:  “What would you, the Dragonfae,  like me to include in this review?”  The card I drew is ‘The Dragonfae Goddess Tiamet’.  On her card reads:  “You are stronger than you think.”  An excerpt from the booklet from this Goddess is shown below.  I hope every woman who reads these words considers the plight of women elsewhere, especially those hidden in veils.

“Build something for you now and for the generations to come.  Consider the legacy you wish to leave for your descendants and for the planet, and work from this place.  Surround yourself with people who share your values and insights, and learn more about what it is that you can do to stop others being persecuted.  Know that no matter what appears to have happened and no matter how tragic and disasterous it may seem to be, you are in fact strong enough to not only cope, but to transcend this circumstance and rise again. You are greater than those who have hurt you and you no longer need to live with fear.  You will soon be free, washed clean and reborn to yourself.  Never underestimate your own strength, just quietly begin to build again.”
